Coverboards covered in dark red grained effect paper over board. Cream coloured tracing paper. Collocation: four gatherings containing the following number of folios: twenty four (one of a heavier weight attached to front cover and twelve torn out); twenty four; twenty two (fifteen torn out); twenty three (one of a heavier weight and twenty two torn out); one separate sheet attached to back cover. The sketchbook has been used back to front.

Production date: circa AD 1930
This sketchbook contains a preliminary drawing for 'April' [191], 1930 and the artist's intinerary for her journey on the Orient Express in September 1930. There are some minor studies including one figure study illustrating the journey notes, a study of a boat, a study of a large building - but the book has primarily been used for recording impressions from the trip in prose (pages 11-24).
