Description

Bone china coffee can and saucer, decorated with aerographed dark turquoise, sgraffito spirals and painted in blue enamel.

Bone china coffee can and saucer, aerographed in dark turquoise decorated with sgraffito spirals and small circles, and painted in blue enamel. Can shape. Cylindrical cup with rounded loop handle. Circular saucer with shallow curved sides, and a circular depression inside the low footring. The cup is decorated on the exterior, and has a white base, handle and a white interior painted with a blue band below the rim. The saucer has a white circle in the centre, a wide band of decoration, and a white rim and back.

History note: Given to the donor's mother as a retirement gift in 1966.
