History note: Auction organised by Monet, Berthe Morisot, Renoir and Sisley at Hôtel Drouot, Paris, 24 March 1875, bought by Auguste de Moulins, the painter; sold by his family to Durand Ruel, 1899; bought by Alphonse Kahn, 1908; with Messrs. L.H. Lefèvre and Son, London, 1923; F. Hindley Smith
