Description

Life-size group. wood, carved in the round, and gilded. The Virgin holds a broken fragment of a sceptre or flower in her right hand. The Child, held on her left arm, holds a ball and looks into the Virgin's face. The Virgin wears a veil. (description: T. Borenius: 'The Leverton Harris Collection', 1931, p. 11, pl. XX).
