Description

White earthenware figure on horseback, moulded in parts. Painted with black and pink enamels, and gilt. Pair with Emperor Napoleon III (C.3A-2021).

Empress Eugenie, wearing a long riding habit and large hat with feathers, sitting side saddle on her horse, her right arm not visible, her left hand in her lap. The base displays the word 'EMPRESS', moulded and picked out in gilt. The underside is concave and glazed. The back is flat and undecorated, with a vent hole towards the base.
