Reprint of the 1505 Aldine edition with the preface of P. Bembo to Lucretia Borgia, suppressed in most of the copies of the earlier edition due to a rift between Julius II and Lucretia's husband Alfonso d'Este.
With dedication: A madonna Lucretia Estense Borgia duchessa illustrissima de Ferrara ... In Venetia il di primo d'Agosto MDIIII [1504].
Old classmark: 740.
Binding: Milanese, citron morocco (16th century), with g.t. stamp of boy holding cornucopia in centre of boards, g.t. & blind stamped; spine blind stamped, raised bands; a.e.g., gauffered.
