Note

See information, xeroxes of documents, etc. sent by Lucy Wood and received 3rd June, 1991. From this it appears that the Fitzwilliam's candlesticks probably came from The Derby Marble Works, founded in the 18th century and run by a Mr Brown, Brown and Son, Brown and Mawe, a Mr Hall and in 1850 by his sons Joseph and Thomas Hall.

See letter of 11th August, 1989 from Lucy Wood, Assistant Keeper of the Lady Lever Art Gallery, giving information about possible origin of these candlesticks.
