Description

Chinese reverse-painted mirror, made for the export market. A river landscape scene with boats, framed in the foreground by a tree with vines and white peonies at the base on the left and bamboo with white chrysanthemums at the base on the right. Birds of different varieties, including a male pheasant and parrot, sit on the branches. In a carved European giltwood frame.
