Description

Engraved octagonal woodblock. A old man wearing a broad-brimmed hat and seated on a nag with basket panniers and with a basket containing produce over his arm. A gravestone marked 'X' beneath a tree to the right.

Notes

History note: Dr Geoffrey Hext Sutherland Bushnell, archaeologist, who completed a BA in Natural Science at Downing College, Cambridge in 1925 and was later Director of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropogy.
