Parian porcelain, slip cast in the shape of bearded Assyrian man's head wearing a tall headdress projecting from masonry, mounted on a square, straight-sided base with 'NIMROD' impressed into the front. The flat underside of the base has a large circular hole in the centre.

One of a series of figures and vases modelled by Aaron Hays after Assyrian sculpture in the British Museum. he Nimrod's Head Vase was based on the head of an enormous bull taken from the Palace of King Esarhaddon (680-669 BC) at Nimrud.
