Image only, showing seated figure and boulder (?). Image in blue against green background (yellow printed over blue). This element remains unchanged in later proofs, although printed in different colours. From a group of nine proofs for the cover of the 100th number of the journal 'Encounter', January 1962, in different colourways.

History note: Via Peterhouse College from the estate of Professor Edward Shils, who was a fellow of Peterhouse and an editor of Encounter in this period
