Dating

Production date: not after AD 1934 : The Leicester Galleries state that most of the paintings in their exhibition of 1934 'would have come straight from' the artist. It thus seems probable that this year, or slightly berore it, is the likely date for painting (Goodison & Sutton, 1977).
