Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted underglaze with blue Chinese decoration.
Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, with moulded relief decoration, and painted underglaze in blue. The globular teapot is moulded with two rococo scroll-edged panels reserved on a pleated ground, with simple loop handle and facetted curved spout. The domed cover is moulded with ribs, and surmounted by a conical finial. The teapot is painted on one side with a figure fishing below a willow tree, the reverse with a figure fishing from a sampan, and a pagoda on an island. The shoulders, spout and handle are painted with trailing flower flower sprays, an insect below the spout. The mis-matched cover has a lambrequin border.
