Description

Porcelain cup and saucer, painted with flower branches in green, yellow and reddish-brown enamel colours and gilt.

Porcelain cup and saucer, painted in green, yellow and reddish-brown enamel colours and gilt. Cup of 'bucket can' form with scrolled ring handle; circular saucer with curved sides and footring. Both pieces are decorated with a floral spray, the name of which is inscribed on the base: on the cup, 'Heath Leav'd St John's Wort'; on the saucer, 'Box Leaved Milk Wort', both in pale purple. The rims and the edge of the handle are gilt.
