Description

Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted in polychrome enamels with an inscription and flower sprays.

Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, painted in red, pink, purple, yellow, brown and green enamels. The globular teapot has a rounded loop handle and curved spout, and stands on a wedge-shaped footring. The domed cover is surmounted by a bun knob. It is painted on one side with a scroll-edged cartouche, inscribed in red 'WILLm. & ANN COBB/HARLESTON/1790', the reverse with floral sprays and sprigs below a scale diaper border. The cover is decorated en suite.
