Inscription or legends present

  • Text: was small and foolish, and liked to wander over the / rocks and dry stony places, or perhaps was looking / out for some better sort of lodgings: for she said / If Globularia lived in Kaffraria, / Slept in an area, dressed in a dairy, or / Dined in the depths of the sea: / Would she be wary-er, chary-er, fairy-er, / Or could she possibly be? / No one quite understood what she meant, and perhaps she did not herself, but the Poet said that some day, a society would / probably be founded to study and explain her verses. / Then came the very dainty Anthyllis: she had fringed / green mittens and her pretty fingers just peeped outside them. / and so it was no wonder she called attention to them & said / Who gazes at me lingers, and longs to press his lips / Upon his Lady's Fingers, and Kiss their rosy tips.
