  • Text: whether they wished it or not. / The third physician now came / somewhat pale and palpitating. / Her great sympathy for all with / heart troubles had doubtless made her so. She said / "Be of good heart, say I. / I would not have you die / But if your hearts are weak / You should my tonic seek / Tis Digitalis, / And without fail is." / After all these somewhat Depressing / tales, it was a relief to see and hear / the 2 cheerful faces and words which followed. They were each accompanied / by a number of little children, held / on tight to some ropes fastened to the skirts / of the elder ones, and danced round like / children round a May-pole. They were / two brothers called Sempervivum. They / said "we have come to cheer you all at the end of the procession, but we / have so much to do for these young people that we've no time to make / poetry. We were once in leading strings with our parents holding us, and / some day we shall let these go to shift for themselves, and be upright, / and bring up others to be upright too. We don't know if we have any / bruses or weak hearts, we just look after the little ones, and tell them to
