Description

Limestone mace head, squat form. There is a hole drilled through the centre to allow attachment to a wooden rod. Mace heads are symbolic of the power of the king. The ruler of is often shown on temple reliefs smiting Egyptian enemies with such a weapon. The mace head is placed upside down in this photograph.
