Basalt scaraboid
Basalt scaraboid, in the form of the Egyptian hieroglyph for a heart. This type of scaboid was used in a funerary context. The object was originally covered in gold leaf and resin; traces of both remian on the surface. Inscribed on the base with a spell and with two lines of inscribed hieroglyphs on the top. The top of the scarab is pierced.
