Description

Fritware, pierced and incised under a turquoise glaze

Fritware, wheel thrown, pierced and incised under a turquoise glaze that covers the surface unevenly.
Shape: conical bowl with gently concave sides, a plain rim with slight and uneven indentations, sits on a low foot ring.
Interior: incised with two concentric lines on the upper body between which scrolling lines are incised and pierced. Glaze covers the surface unevenly leaving small areas on the lower body where the ceramic body is visible and pooling slightly in the base.
Exterior: piercing from the interior visible on the exterior surface. Glaze runs over the surface terminating on the lower body.
