Fritware, coated in a white glaze painted with lustre
Pink fritware, wheel thrown, coated in white glaze painted with lustre.
Shape: conical bowl with everted, flange rim. Sits on a low, wide foot ring
Interior: on the rim and upper body inscriptions are, respectively, incised through a lustre band or painted in lustre. In a roundel, on the body and base, two rows of seated figures wear headdresses and robes adorned with a variety of patterns including lustre jewel like motifs and scrolls or crosses and scrolls incised through lustre. These figures are reserved on a lustred ground containing half palmettes and incised with scrolls. Below the figures, separated a scalloped band, three fishes swim on a lustred ground which is also incised with spirals.
Exterior: on the body palmette leaves are painted in lustre and enclosed by lustre bands on the rim and lower body. Glaze covers the surface to the lower body, running onto the foot ring in places.
