Fritware, probably wheel thrown, incised and coated in a turquoise glaze
Shape: conical bowl with gently concave sides, a plain rim, with one slight indent, sits on a low foot ring
Interior: incised on the upper body are a series of concentric lines between which scrolling lines are enclosed within spandrels. Glaze pools slightly in the base and displays slight splashes of blue on the body
Exterior: Turquoise glaze runs over the surface terminating unevenly on the lower body.
Accepted by HM Government under the Cultural Gifts Scheme from the Ades Family and allocated to the Fitzwilliam, 2019
