Fritware, probably wheel thrown, painted in black and blue under a transparent white glaze
Shape: bi-conical bowl with a plain rim, sits on a foot ring
Interior: a radiating panel design in which the black triangular panels are inscribed and edged in blue. Between these panels a black arabesque and rosette flower on a stem are highlighted with blue.
Exterior: four black water weeds are painted at regular intervals on the body. Glaze runs over the surface covering the foot ring unevenly.
History note: Found at Gurgan
Accepted by HM Government under the Cultural Gifts Scheme from the Ades Family and allocated to the Fitzwilliam, 2019
