Description

Fritware coated in a white glaze painted with three colours

Fritware, wheel thrown, coated in white crazed glaze painted in turquoise, grey red and black.
Shape: carinated bowl with a collared neck, sits on a slightly flared foot ring
Interior: the rim is painted with a grey dentillated pattern. On the neck, contained by red concentric lines, a lozenge pattern is painted in grey enclosing red or turquoise dots. On the base, enclosed within a roundel, a central rosette and radiating arabesques are painted in turquoise, black, red and grey.
Exterior: on the neck a naskh inscription is painted in black. Glaze runs over the surface, terminating on the foot ring unevenly.
