Pottery: Unidentified Lambeth Pottery (Possibly)
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue with the arms and motto of the Coopers' Company and the initials and date IQ/1695
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed bluish-greeny white and painted in blue. Circular with a narrow rim and shallow well. Painted in the well with the full arms of the Coopers' Company with below on a ribbon the motto 'LOVE AS BRETHREN', and above the arms with the initials and date 'IQ/1695'. The rim is decorated with a border of elliptical motifs alternating with plants.
History note: Inherited from his family by Mr Assheton of The Antiquarian Guild, 4 Carlton Street, Regent Street, London SW1, who sold it with three others for £40 on 27 June 1924 to Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
