Pottery: unidentified London pottery
Buff earthenware, with slightly greenish tin-glaze, painted in blue. The circular plate has a narrow sloping rim and a shallow well. It is painted in the middle with a large flower on a stem with a detached flower head on each side, and round the rim with four stylized leaf motifs alternating with a small curved spray.
History note: Unknown owner at Barrington, near Cambridge; Mr Morley, a Cambridge dealer, from whom bought on 25 April 1894 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trintiy College, Cambridge
