Description

Tin-glazed earthenware, painted in blue with a basket of flowers and sprays of flowers and foliage

Buff earthenware with slightly blue tin-glaze, painted in blue. The circular plate has a narrow sloping rim, deep curved sides and almost flat centre, It is decorated in the middle with a basket of flowers in Chinese style with two flying insects surrounded by a circular frame resembling a twisted ribbon on a blue ground. On the rim and sides there are four sprays of flowers and foliage with two narrow bands below and one on the edge.
