Description

Buff earthenware, moulded, tin-glazed dark blue, and painted in white. Circular with a wide sloping rim and shallow well. Painted in the middle with a vase of tulips and other flowers and leaves, flanked by flying insects and two flowering plants.

History note: Mr Hagger, dealer, Saffron Walden, from whom purchased on 4 June 1894 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
