Fritware coated in a white glaze painted in polychrome and gilded
Fritware, wheel thrown, coated in white glaze painted with dark red, blue, turquoise, black and gilded.
Shape:carinated bowl with collared neck, sits on a slightly flaring foot ring base.
Interior: on the neck a kufic inscription is painted in blue and surrounded by turquoise leaves and red dots. On the body two mounted horsemen, wearing headdresses and tunics with gilding, are confronted either side of a cypress tree surrounded by leafy fronds dotes with blue and red. Above and below the horsemen pairs polychrome birds are painted.
Exterior: on the upper body a cursive inscription is painted in black. Glaze covers the surface unevenly, terminating unevenly on the foot ring.
