Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue with floral sprays

Buff earthenware, thrown, pierced, tin-glazed bluish-white and painted in blue. Cylindrical with curved shoulders, a short neck with everted rim, and concave underside The sides are pierced by six arched openings. The sides are decorated between each opening with a bird standing on a flowering plant with insects flying above. Round the neck there is a border of alternating panels of cracked ice pattern and oriental scrolls.
