Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted and sponged in blue and green and painted in blue, yellow and red with Adam and Eve beside the Tree of Knowledge

Buff earthenware, tin-glazed bluish-white, painted and sponged in blue and green, and painted in yellow and red; the reverse is also tin-glaze. Circular with curved sides and slightly everted rim. Decorated with Adam and Eve holding leaves in front of themselves,standing on either side of the Tree of Knowledge with a striped serpent twined round the trunk. On the right and left there are low sponged bushes. Round the rim there are two blue lines and blue sponging.
