Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, yellow, and manganese-purple with Adam and Eve standing on either side of the Tree of Knowledge; round the edge, two manganese lines

Buff earthenware, the front tin-glazed and painted in blue, yellow and manganese-purple, and sponged in blue; the reverse is covered with thick greenish-lead-glaze. Circular with a sloping rim and curved well, standing on a footring. The well is decorated with Adam and Eve standing on either side of the Tree of Knowledge which has yellow fruits and a serpent twined about the upper trunk. On the right and left there are low sponged bushes. The edge is encircled by two narrow manganese bands.
