Flower vase with three spouts

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in manganese-purple and cobalt-blue
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed and painted in manganese-purple and cobalt-blue. The bulbous body has a wavy rim, three spouts and three horn-like double-scrolls on the shoulder, and a conical circular foot. The body is decorated with Chinese figure in a landscape, with a tree and rocks, above which is inscribed '1683 G/W R'. On the foot there are blue scrolls and lozenge-shaped motifs between narrow horizontal manganese bands, above which is a broad blue band and three more manganese bands.
History note: An unidentified lady owner by about 1902; purchased from Miss Kingsland, 8a London Road, West Croydon, on 3 December 1912, for £6
