Description

Tin-glazed earthenware dish decorated in blue, green, greenish-yellow, and orange with a three-quarter figure of Mary II labelled W R

Buff earthenware, the front tin-glazed and painted in blue, copper-green, greenish-yellow, and orange; the reverse covered with yellow lead-glaze over pale slip. Circular with curved sides, and everted rim, standing on a footring. Decorated in the middle with a three-quarter length figure of a Queen, probably Mary II, wearing a crown, and holding a sceptre with the letters W and R above. On either side of her there are half trees, and round the edge a yellow band and blue dashes.
