Pottery: Unidentified Bristol pottery (Probably)
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in polychrome with a Chinese figure in a garden
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed greyish-white, and painted in blue, green, yellow, and red. Circular with a wide slightly sloping rim, shallow curved sides, and flat centre with recessed base. Decorated in the middle with a Chinese figure holding a flower, standing in front of a fence with a bush on the left. The rim is decorated wth three stems of flowers and leaves. A blue line runs round the edge.
History note: Unknown owner at Chesterford, Essex; bought in Cambridge on 28 November 1894 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
