Description

Earthenware, press-moulded, the front coated in cream slip, slip-trailed in two shades of brown and lead-glazed. A heraldic rose supported by a unicorn and a lion, with initials RH above, and a plant below

Buff earthenware, press-moulded over a hump mould to produce the outlines of the design in relief on the inside, which is coated in cream slip, and slip-trailed in two shades of brown, before lead-glazing. In the middle there is a heraldic rose supported by a lion on the right, and a unicorn on the left, with above the initials RH in relief, and a rosette, and below the rose, a stylized plant. The slip has run slightly under the yellowish glaze.

Press-moulding : Buff earthenware, press-moulded over a hump mould to produce the outlines of the design in relief on the inside, which is coated in cream slip, and slip-trailed in two shades of brown, before application of yellowish lead-glaze. The exterior is undecorated and unglazed.

Inscription present: rectangular white paper stick on label with a dark turquoise blue line on the edges of three sides and a fleur de lis or leaf motif in the two upper corners
