Production: Unidentified Frechen pottery
Brown salt-glazed stoneware decorated with an applied bearded face mask, an oval heraldic medallion, and two groups of four impressed horse-shoes or leaves
Greyish-buff stoneware, thrown, decorated with impressed and applied moulded relief decoration, partially coated in pale iron-brown wash and salt-glazed. The ovoid body contracts into a short neck with cordons round the top, and has a small strap handle with longitudinal grooves, and at its lower end, a tail running down the body with four finger depressions (2,1,1) in it. A bearded face mask in relief is applied to the front and lower down below it is an applied oval heraldic medallion. On either side of the shoulder below the mask there are four impressed horse-shoe or leaves. Another single horseshoe or leaf is impressed to the left of the handle on the neck
