Description

Tin-glazed earthenware with a powdered manganese ground, a central reserve painted with a basket of flowers and smaller reserves painted with fleurs-de-lys and carnations, all in dull brownish-red

Buff earthenware, tin-glazed greyish-white and decorated with powdered manganese and painting in dull brownish-red. Circular with a sloping slightly concave rim, curved sides and flat centre with recessed base. The front has a powdered manganese-purple ground with a central octagonal reserve surrounded by eight alternately circular and carnation-shaped reserves. The central reserve is painted in brownish-red with a basket of flowers, the circular reserves with a fleur-de-lys, and the carnation-shaped with that flower.
