Maiolica ewer with a helmet-shaped body and scrolled handle, painted in blue with foliage around the foot and rim.
Earthenware, tin-glazed thinly on the exterior and interior. Painted in dark blue.
Moulded helmet-shaped body with a pointed lip, standing on a domed and moulded circular foot. The lower part of the body is decorated with four 'cabochons' and the upper two-thirds with arched panels separated by acanthus foliage. The handle is elaborately scrolled.
The rim is encircled by a horizontal line, below which is a narrow border of foliage with pendant stems. On the foot is a similar border within a narrow line.
