Spouted bottle. Earthenware, tin-glazed on the interior and exterior; base unglazed. Painted in bright blue.
Globular body standing on a spreading foot; slender neck with a swelling below the rim and sloping spout springing from the shoulder.
The body and neck are decorated with branching stems of stylised foliage and flowers. Below the rim is a wide horizontal band between two narrow bands, repeated below the design, and round the edge of the foot, a narrow and a wide band. The underside of the spout is horizontally striped.
History note: Taormina, where purchased on 25 April 1904 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher (MS Cat. 2145).
