Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue

Pale buff earthenware, moulded, tin-glazed and painted in blue with darker blue outlines. The slender baluster stem has an angled knop at the top supporting a cylindrical nozzle with projecting moulding at top and bottom; at the base of the stem there is a rounded knop. The circular foot has a flat edge, a domed sides, and a slightly convex centre. The decoration comprises bands of scrolls, lappets, and floral ornament in Chinese style.
