Relative size of this object is displayed using code inspired by Good Form and Spectacle's work on the British Museum's Waddeson Bequest website and their dimension drawer. They chose a tennis ball to represent a universally sized object, from which you could envisage the size of an object.

Note

Previously considered to have been a design for table ware, perhaps related to the set commissioned by Federico Gonzaga between 1524-26, Philip Pouncey's identification of the design as an aspergillum or holy water sprinkler means that this must have been for a different commission
