Renaissance, earthenware fragment of a dish centre, slip coated, incised, painted in green and brownish-yellow underglaze with part of the head and shoulders of a man or angel.
Pale red earthenware, the front coated in white slip, and lead-glazed except inside the footring and a little way outside it. The front incised and painted in green and brownish-yellow underglaze. Approximately rectangular with a footring.

History note: Purportedly from the Lagoon in Venice. H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
