Description
Slipware mug with silver mounts, the upper part slip-trailed with the initials 'DN' and date '1716'
Buff eathenware, thrown, decorated with combed and trailed dark brown and cream slip, and lead-glazed. Bell-shaped with a small strap handle, and silver mounts with scalloped edges on the rim and foot, the latter more deeply scalloped than the upper mount. The lower part is alternately combed and feathered. Above this there is a horizontal brown band with white spots, the initials 'DN' between pairs of vertical brown lines with white spots, the date '1716 and above, a brown band with white spots below the rim
