Description

Soft-paste porclelain, moulded with decoration in relief, and painted underglaze in blue with Chinese river scenes, and borders

Soft-paste porcelain, moulded with decoration in relief, and painted underglaze in blue; base unevenly glazed except at the edges, where there is black speckling. Octagonal, with slightly sloping shoulders and short cylindrical neck. Four sides are relief-moulded with scroll-edged medallion, and four sides with chrysanthemum on a spray of foliage. Two of the medallions are painted wth circular Chinese river scenes, and two with smaller oval landscapes. The edge of the shoulder has a 'key and cell' border, and there are two narrow lines round the base.
