Description

Earthenware dish, painted in blue, green, yellow and brown with Lot and his daughters after an engraving by Jacob Frey after Domenichino.

Dish. White earthenware covered with a clear glaze and painted in blue, green, yellow and light brown enamels. Circular with slightly sloping rim, shallow well and flat central area. Painted over the whole surface with Lot and his daughters; yellow rim.

Note

The design is after an engraving by Jacob Frey after Domenichino, (see Department of Prints, Frey Prints, No. 26). The decoration was almost certainly executed off the works.
