Earthenware fragment, incised through a cream slip under a thin yellow glaze and enhanced with extra layers of slip and areas of dark and light brown pigment

Wheel-thrown earthenware bowl fragment with a red body tone, incised through a cream slip under a yellow glaze and enhanced with extra layers of slip and areas of dark and light brown pigment
Shape: base, straight foot ring and small part of lower body of a vessel
Interior: over a cream slip, a narrow incised circular band around the base, coloured with light brown pigment, encloses a three-field blazon, the smaller upper and lower fields undecorated and the wider inner field, unevenly painted with light brown pigment, bearing a trumpet placed diagonally and enhanced with a thicker layer of slip creating a paler tone under the glaze, the whole coated in a yellow glaze
Exterior: yellow glaze over a cream slip, unevenly applied on the foot ring exterior and underside, undecorated.
