Light buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides and painted in dark blue and deep orange; the glaze on the back has a patch of brown discolouration.Of irregular shape, curved on one side.On the front, part of two dark blue leaves reserved in a deep orange ground.


History note: From a pozzo at Orvieto. Collection of either Signor Avvocato Marcioni or Cavaliere Capitano Lucatelli: purchased from Fenton, Cranbourne St., shortly after the sale at Sotheby's, 16-17 February, 1914, but not included in it; Bernard Rackham (1876-1964)
