Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue and manganese-purple

Buff earthenware, thickly potted, tin-glazed except for most of the base, and painted on the exterior in blue and manganese-purple. The lower part of an albarello with bulging sides rising from a concave disk base, and contracting slightly as they rise. The main field is decorated in blue with three half horizontal leaves with plants with spiral tendrils rising between them. Below this there is are horizontal bands, blue, manganese-purple, and two blue, then a row of large blue spots, and round the projecting edge of the base two blue bands. There is a hole in the base.
