Description

Earthenware hu with high octagonal pedestalled base, ellipsoidal belly, long tubular neck, and protuding lip. The vessel has a pair of animal masks and simulated ring handles produced from moulds and pressed on to the body. Streaked yellow green glaze covers the vase. Drip marks on the rim suggest that the vessel was fired upside down.
The interior of the heavy octagonal base is unglazed, and it can be observed where clay was smoothed to adhere base to body

The glaze has dissolved into silver irridescence in parts. Numerous chips in the mouth rim and base.
